About Us

Our object is the study and documentation of pidgin and creole languages worldwide, together with other languages or dialects of other languages influencing them or influenced by them.

Upcoming Events

4th - 7th January 2024

Annual Winter Virtual Meeting, New York (online)

NEW: We are sorry to inform that the SPCL has fallen victim of a financial fraud and lost a significant part of the funds reserved for future activities. Due to this, the Winter Meeting 2024 will be virtual, instead of the previously announced meeting in New York in conjunction with the Linguistic Society of America (LSA). Please follow updates on this website.
